I can see SCC scoring 28 points (maybe, if they catch a couple breaks), but why do you think they will shut out END (or anybody for that matter)? Has Seton improved on defense? Over the last few years, that has been their downfall (along with ineffective offensive line play) - a lack of aggresive athletes, especially on defense, that are willing to hit, and make the stops when needed.

They finally have some coaches that will have give them some better defensive schemes to allow them to match up better with bigger/stronger teams. They have a couple of big guys to fill gaps and a couple of hard hitting kids to play linebacker.

I agree with the SCC post the kids havnt had alot of heart in football for yrs. What reason have they had ??? Now instead of apples and paintballing for practice they are being motivated to work. All the sports around them are doing well, the hole school breeds alot of sucsess, and YES NOT EVERYONE OR EVERY SPORT but as a whole they do. So why wouldnt with the right tools they turn their program around. Now all is left is to see if this new crew is up for the challege!!!! Its a large one that will for sure take awhile programs arent changed in a yr..... GOOD LUCK...

I think you have a little too much time on your hands. These teams haven't even begun official practice yet.

Who ever predicted the owego/vestal score is giving Vestal too much credit. My prediction is that owego beats vestal by 21 or more and vestal does not win more than 2 games this year.

They might go o-fer this fall. Morale is way down and two football fathers told me their kids and a few others are not going out this year and got a fair amount of playing time last fall.

No, more like flipping a coin. To guess football scores when you don't know who is playing for each team is just plain stupid.

The spreads aren't out yet of course, but I'll take the following straight up:

Miami
Chicago
Tennessee
New England
Giants
Atlanta
Tampa
Denver
Indy
Seattle
Green Bay
Arizona
Dallas
Baltimore
San Diego

How about you?

It is pretty sad how far the vestal football team has fallen. If they played a class D schedule they would be luckily to win one game. But the truth is that this is a different day and time in the vestal community. The focus of the school's athletic department is soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. Vestal students are finese athletes. I wouldn't be suprised if you put the soccer team in pads that they would crush the football team. It was a nice program while it lasted. It is going to be ugly when they have to play binghamton, ue, maine endwell, and corning. I don't know if they will score more than 2 touchdowns between all four games. My prediction is that they get beat on average by 28 to 35 points.

Thank the AD that sits back and watched Tanks ruin the program...... They had a chance 2yrs ago to bring Dan Davis onboard with his boys now they wouldnt piss on Vestal if it were burning.......

Well maybe after this season when they win one maybe two games, or go without a win all season, they will make a change. It is sad when an athletic director does not relate to the community or even have an answer as to why he keeps a coaching staff on that is decimating the program. Kids are no longer coming out for football in Vestal and it is a sad situation. I am not saying that Vestal is the only program in the area that has a great tradition. It would be nice if they could have a winning season or make a run deep in the playoffs once in a while. It is just sad how Vestal at one times had a great football program in the area and now they are a joke. Most teams want them on their schedule so they will get a guarenteed win. Well if you are going to watch vestal this year get ready to see a team beaten down up and down the field. When the season is over and they have won maybe one or two games the coaching staff will stay the same and the program will continue to be the joke of section four.

Oh shut up, it is the same way at every single school. You guys say everything except the truth. The AD at UE is a hardcore football guy and doesn't even go to the girls soccer games when they are playing in the State playoffs. In fact he is such a football guy that he took the trainer away from them during their playoff game to bring the trainer over to the football game 4 hours before the football game even started! And don't say "it doesn't make a big deal"!! Because it does, UE had two injuries and guess who had to check out the players to clear them to play??? The John-Jay athletic trainer! And guess who didn't play the rest of the game because the trainer wouldn't clear them? Those two players for UE! And be honest with yourself, the Vestal students and athletes just don't like football or they are lazy and do not want to work. If the coaches today were like Fran Angeline and Hoover from the old days there wouldn't be too many kids playing football because they are too serious about winning and teaching the game. The kids today have no heart, b@lls, or will to win! All they want to do is sit on their a-s-s-e-s! Don't place all the blame on Tank or the Vestal AD because the kids are stuck up, lazy, rich snobs that have no work ethic because their parents hand feed them everything! I can see if a team is just bad and give it 100% but with the talent that Vestal has in that school there is no reason why they shouldn't winning class A every year! If the kids do not want to win, if the kids do not want to work hard for it, and if the coaches can't coach than that is the recipe for 0-8 seasons! Not the AD or coaches alone!
