Yes, socialism is a bad thing unless you are a parasite leeching off the taxpayers. This is the reason why those on welfare, like you, should loose their voting privledges.

If I had nothing to do and cared one hoot about doing something as stupid as this, I am sure I could take ANY politician, including Lincoln, Washington, Jefferson, not to mention today's group and make up some ridiculous list of unrelated statements to make them look like a socialist, or a saint.

The scary thing is it looks like YOU fall for claptrap like this. Seriously, try to be a responsible citizen and not a Chicken Little, the sky is NOT falling.

Actually, this is why this state is in such a dire mess....because you believe that Government will take property away from those of us who work and give it to you. That is called WELFARE and it hasn't nor will it ever work...for the incentive to create capital will cease and the net result will be inflation and depression...but not to worry, there is a group who will end your misery as soon as they get the Bomb, which won't be long...........

No, I beg to differ, those are the services Government was suppsed to provide - Defense, basic utilities, police protection and the like....BTW, Unemployment is paid for by the EMPLOYER, and "soicl security" is paid for by all WAGE EARNERS. It is the "earned income tax credit, TANF, Food Stamps, community development block grants, and a world of others - TRANSFER PAYMENTS - that are bankrupting this country.

Just so we keep the "facts" straight..... This country has been socialistic for the last 50 years and in that time span, we have created the largest, most successful economy in the history of the world - and created the single most successful middle class in the history of the world. Under our system our poor, middle class and rich have done extremely well.

As far as your comment assuming that that I do not owrk, I happen to own three businesses and make nearly one million dollars a year.

You believe that government is supposed to provide these things becaause that is your mindset. These are socialistic programs (one's I support mind you) that are supplied by our government because we want them to and because we have a socialistic form of government. There are forms (or mostly have been forms) of government that do not provide and supply these services. That system does not work well and has failed in many attempts over history. Our somewaht socilistic (combined capitalism and socialism) system has worked grreatly over time to create the most successful economy in the history of the planet.

These countries are generally known as "Communist states" in the West, because their ruling parties typically use the name "Communist Party of [country]." However, the countries themselves are referred to as socialist republics, not communist, in their own constitutions. They are defined by a form of government in which the state operates under a one-party system and declares allegiance to the ideology of Marxism-Leninism. In accordance with Marxism-Leninism, the constitutions of these countries claim that all power belongs to the working class, that a democratic dictatorship of the proletariat has been implemented within their borders, and that they are building socialism, with the goal of achieving communism one day. It should be noted that even though North Korea claims to no longer follow this ideology, the roots of its own brand called Juche does still have elements of it.
